I have followed Jed’s surfing career from the very first time he stood or rather lay o
lay on a surf board in the 1970s, and he has gone on from strength to strength.
He is not only a great and world renowned surfer, but is also a very accomplished
artist. He has decorated some wonderful surfboards, shops and swimming pools
and along with all this talent he is a perfect gentleman, very humble friendly
guy. Good luck and hope that this latest injury will be cleared up before PUerto
Rica.

I have known Jed as far back as 1985 when I first came from Ireland to work in Cornwall. I stayed for some time in the Stone’s home and found both Jed and wife Leslie to be always very courteous and helpful.

I used to watch him go out at Fistral in the “freezing cold” and admired his wonderful dedication to the sport- which has served him well, as can be seen from his outstanding accomplishments.

He seems to be forever young and always the nice guy that he really is.

Wish him the very best.

Martin

Hi everyone,

I, Jonathan, have known Jed for over 27 years, ever since he picked me up from the hospital (when i was born). He has been an inspiration to me both as a dad and as an athlete, always supporting me and my little brother in everything we do.

He has instilled in me the fact that you are only as old as you want to be and i know he will come back with a win in the competition.

Good luck dad and wish we were coming with you!!

Love from Jonathan and Becca

xx

Ive known David or Jed as everyone calls him, since before he was born or surfingand
and he has always been on the go. never still for a minute, school captain at
football, cricket, played rugby and was always in the water when we lived in
Malta where he was born. he has never been happy away from the sea. so it was
fortunate that his Dad who was in the Royal Marine band, was always stationed
in coastal areas. so he could get in the water he was a latecomer to surfing,
borrowed his brother in laws board whilst he was on leave from the navy we
lived in helston at the time, and from then on we had to sit in the freezing cold
trying to keep warm whilst he surfed without the gear that is used today. So now
he is off to puerto to give them a run for their money and he can and will do it
120% never content with 100%. You know that all your brothers sisterrs nephews
neices and the whole of the Stone clan are willing you on ou love and best wishes
go with you always in my prayers. loves the bones of you. XXX Mom & Dad & Meg
