Sadly Roger and Gary were eliminated from their heats today ☹
But we are all proud of what they have done, this is the WORLD masters. Not just some tin pot competition, but the Best in the WORLD. Roger is ranked 6th in the world (don’t hold me to this as I have had a few Bat Juices) Gary (now ranked 13th in the WORLD) who has soldiered on with his “propeller arms” and a busted board, but did that stop him? NO!
Gazza (AKA Gary) just kept paddling away, and with the mentality that “I have been allocated 12 waves” So I will TAKE 12 waves. Honest the guy is like a machine. It makes me think of the times when you are younger and you were told to finish your plate at dinner “eat it all up or you get no pudding!” Gary was like that, what a hero! Hat’s off to the lad.
Roger had a tough heat, but not one he couldn’t NORMALLY sail through! wave selection, all combined against him (Tig’s He mentioned he has a new hot water bottle for you?) We are proud and extremely thankful that Roger came here and gave his all . At his own expense, so a jolly good rousing Hurrah! For Roger!
Roger and Gary (bless them) will be on the beach tomorrow cheering on the rest of that lads.
As for me, don’t worry about me, I will be fine.

Well done Gazza & Roger for getting as far as you did, we are all proud of you, take a well earned rest and get on the ‘Bat Juice’ with Kevin.
Fantastic that the rest of the guys have got through to the next round, I wish I was there to cheer you all on, but rest assured I am doing it from back here in cold snowy England.
I have printed off some of the pictures that Kevin has sent and they guys in work ask everyday how you are all getting on.
Jed, when the guys found out you were my brother they were in awe of me, see you have fans where you didn’t know they existed.

well done for getting this far we all think you are stars anyway. roge, we were always told its not the winning but the taking part!!! probably doesnt seem so at moment.

Sorry I didn’t comment yesterday but have been away for a couple of days. Sorry to hear a couple of the guys have been knocked out but I know they’ll be cheering for the rest of you. Good luck in your next heats and hang in there. I am so proud of all of you. Hi to Lesley and Julie.

Hi guys, we are truly gutted for Roger & Gazza not getting through, but as you
say Kevin they rank amongst the WORLDS GREATEST and you dont get that
ranking for playing with buckets and spades. You earn those places because of
the courage and skill you show whilst riding those waves against a powerful
adversary THE SEA. I along with many hundreds of thousands have watched these
guys with admiration and with the greatest respect. So Roger & Gazza we raise
our glass to you for what you have achieved, we are Proud of you. Good luck to
the rest of the team, hold your heads up high and go out there and do the thing
that you love to do and that is SURF.
