The weather for Rincon, Puerto Rico is a bit suspect at the moment, rain and the odd thunderstorm.
But the temperatures is around the 29 degrees so no need for woollen jumpers or thermal long johns
We have had some help from Claire working for Hertz who gave us a favourable discount for our hire vehicles, and many thanks as well to Graham from www.unionjackwear.co.uk who has supplied us with some Union Jack flags & Hats which we will wear with pride during the competition and especially the opening ceremony. Many Thanks Guys. Not forgetting Lesley our PR manager who has worked tirelessly trying to drum up interest in our venture to the World Masters.
One thing that does surprise me is the inherent lack of backing that British Sports get from the Government and Corporate Companies. I believe that the majority of other teams have all be sponsored by big names.
Not us, we have to do it ourselves. So come on you big firms, put your hands in your pockets and help us out here. When we win the titles we will be plastered over the National papers and on TV, so get in now before someone else does.
Come on this is the BIG one, the World Masters Surfing Competition, and we are the team representing Great Britain, something to look forward to after the recent Ashes, Rugby and Football disappointments. January is the month we have something to cheer for!
Anyway I shall climb down from my soap box now and go and make a cup of tea.
Thanks to all of you who have left comments and visited the site, gives us a bit of a lift when we know there is an interest in the British Team
:-)
This is Kevin Stone 7am drinking tea about to go to work signing off, for now!
